Ghost Town

Last weekend we went to a ghost town about 2.5 hours away from here in the mountains. The children loved it! We have recently read the Little House series, and they were excited to travel back in time...and I once again came to the conclusion that history doesn't have to lead hundreds of years into the past to be fascinating...you have to appreciate what you have. And you can't beat those mountains!

The aspen were beautiful, and we had a little picnic on a stream. A gorgeous day!

Our autumn seasonal table - it's a work in progress. Yesterday we dipped some leaves in beeswax to preserve them - we will make more for a mobile soon.

L recently got his own pocket knife - he only uses it under supervision, of course.

This picture somehow didn't make it up with the rest...please bear with me, as I am new to this whole thing...Posted by Picasa

Last Days of Summer

My three little Acorns and their Papa on a hike in the mountains last weekend...the leaves were just starting to change.
